Brian J. Seelig Joins Minerals Technologies as Vice President, Global Manufacturing, Minteq

NEW YORK, Jun 16, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Brian J. Seelig has joined Minerals Technologies Inc. (NYSE: MTX) as Vice President, Global Manufacturing, Minteq International Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary that produces refractory materials and systems. He will report to Bill Wilkins, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Minteq, and will be responsible for Minteq's worldwide manufacturing activities. Due to his previous experience in successfully implementing LEAN Manufacturing programs, he will also be responsible for leading the ongoing Operational Excellence process in Minteq.

Mr. Seelig operated his own consulting business, Operational Excellence, in Medford NJ, where he specialized in LEAN Enterprise Development. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Amuneal Manufacturing Corporation in Philadelphia, a customized metal fabricator; and Chief Operating Officer for Weatherhill Associates, Inc., a leading, global producer and distributor of electrical components for the automotive aftermarket in Royersford, PA. Prior to that Mr. Seelig held operational and manufacturing positions of increasing responsibility in the automotive, industrial, consumer and pharmaceutical industries including the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center (DVIRC) in Philadelphia, a consulting firm designed to increase industrial competitiveness.

Mr. Seelig holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston University; a Master of Arts in History from the University of Connecticut; and a Master of Science in Organizational Behavior from the University of Hartford. He is also a lifetime member and regional president of AME-The Association for Manufacturing Excellence.
